Saskatchewan Crane Training School - The crane training school provides industry-relevant programs. Courses provide trainees with learning results which match existing industry demands. Theory Programs

The crane training school features a strong grounding in theory related to power-line safety, regulations, inspection and site hazards involved in crane operation. Trainees will acquire information of hardware applications, load charts and rigging. Direct feedback and quizzes during the course would assist trainees solidify their understanding.

The theory topics include: Safety fundamentals for crane operators; introduction to crane certification process; crane operation knowledge; rigging knowledge; communications knowledge; crane set-up & pre-trip inspections, and crane service and maintenance.

Practical Programs

The crane training school consists of practical training involving hands-on learning. This part teaches trainees how to identify crane components and terminology. People training will have the opportunity to perform skills required for crane operating, signaling and rigging.

Practical course topics: Identify crane functions and components; Learn crane terminology; use remote control; identify rigging and wire ropes; pre-use inspection on crane; identify regulations and documents for wire rope and rigging; carry out correct lifting and lowering of loads; perform rigging techniques and utilize radio and hand signals.
